文摘内容 Starting from Novemer,Mr.Gerry Van Leeuwen,senior consultant of R.E Taylor & Associates, spent a whole weed to visit 15 timber processing plants at Manzhouli, Harbin, Dongning and Suifenhe for investigation on timber trade and processing situation around the border between China and Russia. By the end of October, China imported 4.5 million cubic meters of Russian logs via Manzhouli, the largest land port of China. Most of the production from the 70 to 80 sawmills around Manzhouli area goes to Dalian, Shanghai and other cities as sawn timber or parts for finished products exported to international markets like Europe, US, and Japan. The Russian logs exported to China from January to October of this year through Suifenhe city is 4.5 million cubic meters, which is larger than that of 2002, 3.24 million cubic meters. There are altogether 300 to 400 wawmills in Suifenhe, whose are producing for exports to Europe, US and Japan。
