As enhancing quality and efficiency becomes the priority issue of green space development in the space stock renewal context, the research on green spaces' health benefits under the perspective of social health has attracted increased recognition and attention, which is hoped to meet the high-quality development goal and the social demand for openness and sharing. However, the current research on the promoting effect of green spaces on social health presents a multi-pointed and fragmented state. It is therefore necessary to systematically consider the role of green spaces in promoting social health and the pathways to its efficiency enhancement. After reviewing and conducting the cluster analysis of the literature about social health of green spaces since 2015, the paper finds that the existant research has been focused on the socially promoting role of green exposure, green space perception and green space use, as well as on social environment improvement and social resources optimization at local community and urban scales. In line with the findings, the paper comes up with the efficiency enhancement pathways to social health based on the identification-evaluation-diagnosis-intervention-management framework under the background of stock planning. The study clarifies the theoretic framework for the definition and the roles of urban spaces' social health as well as the approaches to enhancing its efficiency, which provides a basis for the practice and application of social health in green spaces.
