文摘内容 Geographic environment is the essential condition of social being and development.Ancient China had favourable conditions and a relatively closed geographic environment to agriculture.Agricultural civilization was thus highly developed and the study of Chinese traditional geography was formed.It is a kind of inland synthetic geography,which clearly shows the characteristics of the inland,regions,synthesis,description and history.Traditional geography consists of three interdependent parts--synthetic descriptions of regions,techniques of large-scale maps,and viewpoints of the flatland.Interior synthetic geography has been cultivated and developed under the specific conditions of geography,economy,politics,culture etc.in ancient China.It has become a traditional geography with rich content,various forms,distinct characteristics and tremendous achievements.
