文摘内容 Biodiversity is a complex system involving plants, animals, microorganisms and human beings. Due to human population growth and economic pressure, there has been a high rate of biological resource destruction. Realizing this global environmental concern, the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) established the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) in 1992. It marked a significant step in the global efforts in the conservation and sustained utilization of biological diversity. Thailand joined other counties signing the Convention but ratification has not yet been made. However, the country is among those that have carried out many activities in support of the conservation and sustained utilization of biological resources。
