文摘内容 Two kinds of big sympodial bamboo, D.Yunnanicus Hsueh and Whangee (D. Membranaceus Munro) and their physical and mechanical properties have been studied in the paper. The results showed that the whangee has better physical properties than that of the Yunnanicus, such as higher density, lower tangential and longitudinal dry shrinkages. That also showed that Whangee has stronger mechanical properties in MOR and MOE, compressive strength and shear strength parallel to the grain. Compared with some wood species used in architecture, the physical and mechanical properties of the two kinds have reached the requirement of some wood architecture structure materials。
