摘要 Functional materials with stimulus response and simple control response have gained increasing attention from scientists due to the high demand for advanced materials essential for emerging technologies. The current work discusses the synthesis and characterization of novel dual-stimulus responsive supramolecular dendronized copolymers which were synthesized by different tail chain lengths stimuli responsive dendron (G1-MTEOn-CHO, n?=?2, 3) with aldehyde groups and the polymer polyvinyl benzylamine hydrochloride (PVBAHS) with amino groups in the side chain through the dynamic covalent bond self-assembly. The self-assembly behaviours and stimuli-responsive properties of copolymers were also investigated by ultraviolet–visible spectrophotometry and nuclear magnetic resonance. The results revealed that the supramolecular dendronized copolymers displayed excellent thermal- and pH-responsive performance. The low critical solution temperature (LCST) of short-tailed copolymer was stable at 41 °C under alkaline conditions, while the long-tailed copolymer was stable at 53 °C. This could also be effectively regulated by adjusting the amino-to-aldehyde molar ratio for LCST of the copolymer. Moreover, it would increase with the enlargement of glycol ether tail chain length and the copolymer with long tail chain showed typical temperature sensitivity under weak acid conditions. Advantages of this dual-stimulation responsive polymer are: (1) simple and controllable regulation, (2) moderate temperature and (3) superior performance in encapsulation and release behaviour of the Nile red fluorophore.
