英文摘要 Abstract in China, Ginkgo biloba is distributed in over 20 provinces (municipalities andautonomous regions). According to the recent syear consecutive statistics, the annualoutput of Ginkgo leaves in China is 6-8 million kg. The most important medicinal compo-sitions in Ginkgo leaves are ketone and terpene compounds, as well as phenol and someother special compositions. The main phamarcological functions of the leaves are toimprove the cardiovascular and cerebral circulation. relieve spasm, resist allergy, virusand bacteria, diminish inflammation, and recuperate metabolism and so on. At present, the abstracting process of medicinal composition from Ginkgo leaves is still a matter ofvery much concerned in research and production. With different abstracting methodadopted, different numerical value of ketone compound will be obtained. Since Ginkgoleaves are natural products, there are no poison and side effects as well as no harmful effects on liver and kidney fuction in the extracted liguid. It is. at present. used widelyas medicinal drug, health food and cosmetics in China and abroad. The development, use and deepgoing research of Ginkgo leaves have become a new focus in science circle. The medicinal composition, the pharmacological function of all kinds of medicinal com-position, the production process of abstraction, the present situation of development anduse as well as research trend of Ginkgo leaves in China and abroad are expounded in thepaper. Finally, feasible proposals on the development and use. and research orientationof Ginkgo leaves in China are put forward.
