Abstract Facing on the situations of forest resources shortage and increasingly demands for timber and environmental qualities,forestry in 21st century is bound to meet a new technological revolution.The technology of restoration and reconstruction for degrading plantation ecological system will be one of the kernel technologies for the revolution,which play the key roles in mitigating a contradiction of timber supply and demands,natural forest preservation,biodiversity protection and improvement of ecological environment.This technology will be characterized as a comprehensive one of new technologies combined with traditional technology.
