Community Park is an important part of healthy living environment and the main place for recreational activities of urban residents, which plays an important role in human physical and mental health. The COVID-19 has posed a huge challenge to public health and seriously affected the recreational activities of urban residents in community parks. This paper investigates residents' cognition and use of community parks before and after the pandemic by conducting a questionnaire survey through the method of snowball sampling, and then uses paired t-test and mediation analysis to explore its changes and influencing factors. The results show that the frequency of residents visiting community parks has decreased after the pandemic, and the use rate of community parks and the number of people for social activities also decreased significantly, but the length of each stay has no significant change. The distance of community parks and the cognition of community parks among residents have positive effects on the frequency of recreational activities. The paper puts forward suggestions based on the research results, including the construction of healthy green corridors for communities, the improvement of the all-weather facilities in community parks, and reasonable allocation of park green spaces, which will provide theoretical reference and basis for urban community development in China.
