Human activities caused a rapid increase in the concentrations of the greenhouse gases in the past century whichled to anincreased reflection of radiation, causing higher temperatures on the earth's surface. Studying on the terrestrial carbon cycling became the focus of enviro nmental and ecological researches with the climate changing. Among the new study approaches the stable carbonisot opeanalysis are widely used in studies of the global carbon cycling. Int his paper, the application of stable carbon isotopetechnique on vegetation dynamics, water use efficiency of plants, δ13C values in tree-rings as well as carbon allocation and fluxes were described.
