摘要 Due to the growing need for materials that can function as efficient reinforcing components to develop composite polymeric matrices, the characteristics of?nanocellulose?and microcrystalline cellulose extracted from lignocellulosic residues are reviewed. The main extraction methods commonly used to obtain these materials are briefly described, emphasizing what happens to the main polymers within the lignocellulosic structure at each stage of the extraction process. The contribution of these natural additives to the properties of different composite films is also summarized.
